Cerro El Fraile Ski Center ChileLocated in the austral zone at 1,600 meters above sea level, and just 29 km. away from Coyhaique, El Fraile Ski Center is a unique choice, since it allows you to ski among lenga, pine, and ñirre forests, with a magnificent view of Frío and Pólux lakes.

With an area of 550 hectares, the center is equipped with two ski-lifts and 5 runs with "powder snow", ranging between 600 and 3,200 meters of length.

The center also contains a first-aid service, cafeteria, equipment rental and an equipment repair service. Cerro El Fraile Ski Center operates from Thursday to Sunday, and in winter holidays from Tuesday to Sunday. The shuttle "up" schedule is until 1:00pm and "down" starts at 2:00pm.

Trails and Lifts

Those who are taking their first steps in skiing can do it in Escuela track. Ideal for beginners, it has a 8 degree slope and a length of 300 meters. Los Huemules track, for novices, has a 14 degree slope and a length of 600 meters. Los Aguiluchos is for medium level skiers, it has a 23 degree slope and a length of 1,800 meters. For advanced skiers,  Los Pumas slope is a 28 degree slope and has a longitude of 1,800 meters. Finally, Los Cóndores, for experts, has a 35 degree slope and a length of 2,200 mts.

They possess 2 ski lifts that function from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
