You can also visit the Lakes Blanco and Negro, located close to Chaitén, at 12 km. (7.5 miles). Larch forests embrace these lakes where sport fishing and swimming are ideal.

How to get there
From Santiago by plane or by car/bus to Puerto Montt, from here you should take Route 7 southwards to then take a ferry in La Arena Cove to Puelche Cove. From there you must take a ferry that will carry you to Gonzalo Cove, 35 miles (56 km.) from Chaiten. There are buses that leave from Puerto Montt and arrive in Chaiten.
