Tatio Geysers

Located at 89 km. from the city of San Pedro de Atacama and surrounded by an astonishing scenery of arid beauty, Tatio Geysers is a geothermal field of volcanic origin, where water and steam spring up violently from deep inside the Earth. With a height of more than 4.000 mt. above sea level, these geysers are the tallest geysers in the world.

Geysers are at their peak between 5:30 am and 7:30 am, where streams reach heights of up to 10 meters (32.8 ft). There are hot springs nearby where you can enjoy a thermal bath.

How to get there
Santiago-Calama: by airplane, bus or car. From Calama to the geysers take the road to Chiuchiu (Northeast). After passing this town keep going east and at the detour to Aiquina take the the right. After 74 km. (46.25 mi) from Calama, to your left you will see the detour towards the geysers which are approximately 14 km (8.75 mi) away. There is no public transportation to get there, but you can book tours here.
