Puyuhuapi Hot Springs and Thermal Baths

Puyuhuapi Hot Springs are located 213 kms northeast of Coyhaique. This is one of the most important springs in Chile, and also one of the southernmost. Puyuhuapi is located within Dorita Bay of the Glacier Inlet, in the middle of the Chilean Patagonia and surrounded by a thrilling wildlife scenery of native forest and enourmous ferns. The name Puyuhuapi means "place of puyes", which is a species of fish that is greatly sought after by fishing lovers. The waters of the inlet are source of underground springs of the Melimeyu volcano.

How to get there
From Santiago by plane to Coyhaique, then head to springs through the Carretera Austral. Or you could also travel by land from Puerto Montt, passing across Chaiten and raveling 361 km. (225 miles).

These first-class, modern facilities are built out of wood to keep the harmony with nature. There are sheltered pools and hydromassage baths, and Puyuhuapi also offers varied natural treatments that combine thermal waters, sea waters, algae, and natural heat emitted from the springs. The place also offers the exclusive thalassotherapy treatment, which combines sea algae and sea water with exfoliants and relaxants.
