Airports

A total number 15 airports and airfields are placed across the country, ready for welcoming tourists. All of them offer main services such as International Police, Inmigration and Customs. Also, most them are equipped with basic facilities like restaurants, bathrooms and gift shops.

Customs

You have the right to bring into the country goods free of customs rights and taxes as long as their are part of your luggage. By luggage it is understood:

Recorder cameras, cameras, cell phones, personal use sport equipment, mobile audio player, binoculars, all of them already used. Medicine in quantities in accordance to the needs and the amount of time you're staying. Books, newspapers, magazines and any printed material either new or used.

Gifts, whether new or used, must not exceed above US$ 150 per passenger he or she and must older than 15 years.

Tobaco is permited in quantities that do not exceed 400 cigarretes, 500 grams of loose/pipe tobacco or 50 cigars.

Alcohol is also permitted up to 2.500 cubic centimeters (84.5 oz.).

Sanitary Regulations


The "Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero" (SAG) or Farm and Ranch Service forbids the arrival with products or subproduct of vegetable or animal origins within luggage. Thus, you must declare those products that you bring to the country or, otherwise, pay a fine ranging from US$ 74 to US$ 22.000 (37 thousand to 11 million Chilean pesos).

Your luggage will be inspected by SAG personnel using dogs and x-rays scanners in order to allow it access.

Any domestic animal that you bring is required to have a Vaccination Certificate proving the animal is not infected with canine distemper and/or rabies. The certificate must me endorsed by the Chilean consulate in your country.

Taxes and fares

If you're coming from The United States, Australia, Canada, Albania or Mexico, you will be charged a Reciprocity Fee to enter the country. You must pay it in cash and it will be  valid until you change your passport.

Also, don't forget you must pay a shipping fee that applies according to your destination and travelling distance.
