Hotels in Elqui Valley

Elqui Valley is a hydrographic basin which is famous for its sunny days and for having one of the clearest skies in the southern hemisphere. Because of this, many astronomical observatories have been set there, featuring various tours and guided visits. The area has a number of archaeological findings of the Inca and Diaguita cultures, and has been related to esoteric phenomena and UFOs sighting, giving the area a very special vibe.

Its greatest attractions are the pisco factories -the oldest one is located in the town of Pisco Elqui- where grapes are distilled to make this delicious liquor; this is complemented by a varied gastronomic offer. Furthermore, in Vicuña there is a museum honoring the poet and Nobel Prize of Literature, Gabriela Mistral, who was born in the area.
