Location

Easter Island is located on the east limit of Polynesia, in the Pacific Ocean amongst the 27º 9' South and 109º 27' West. It is 3.700 km away from the coast of Chile. In turn, Tahiti is 4.000 km northeast of Easter Island, which makes it one of the most isolanted islands in the world.

Easter Island has a surface of 16410,7 ha. The highest points are Maunga Terevak (511 above sea level), Rano Kau, and Poike (324 mts).
