Departure from Iquique at 09:00 am, starting a complete tour around three world- famous archaelogical sites.
Tour begins by crossing the Coastal Range. After a 40-minute trip (about 45 km. approximately)Â you'll reach an area known as "Pampa Calichera" in order to visit one of the most important saltpeter centers in our history: Santiago Humberstone Office, declared National Monument and, since two years ago, Cultural and Historical Patrimony of Humanity, by UNESCO.
Pintados Geoglyphs, located 96 km away from Iquique, are composed by over 350 figures made on the slopes of the costal mountain range, representing animals, geometric figures, and human shapes. These manifestations worked as guides for aborigin cultures in their way between the coast and the mountain range, and also as ritual representations.
Then, you'll head towards Chile's largest geoglyph, the Atacama Giant. With over 86 mts, it's a humanoid figure with a feline mask, with a monkey and vessels on its sides.
Return to iquique at 4:00 pm.
