DESCRIPTION
A journey through the history of the glorious Chilean saltpeter boom. You'll also visit important National Monuments in Iquique, like Astoreca Palace. Then, you'll go shopping and will be able to buy in a tax-free area at Zofri Mall.

Departure from hotels at 08:30.
You'll cross the Coastal Range and after a 40-minute drive (45 km. approx.) you'll get to the area known as "Pampa Calichera". There, you'll visit one of the most important saltpeter centers in our history: Santiago Humberstone Office, declared National Monument and World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You'll walk through the town, visiting different places like the church, market, hotel, swimming pool, theatre, public school, and main square.
After an hour, return to Iquique, arriving at 12:00.
Visit to the historical neighbourhood, which features important national monuments, such as Astoreca Palace, Museo Regional, Teatro Municipal, Clocktower and Spanish Casino.
On the way to Zofri shopping mall, you'll see the Rimac Palace (ex customs office), the docks, and the Yacht Club. Arrival at 14:00 hrs.
Lunch at food yard (non-included) and shopping afternoon, using the duty-free status of US $ 1.218 pp. (Value added tax, IVA, and customs free).
Return to the hotel on the passenger's account.
