DESCRIPTION A mild year-round climate allows for walking the islandâs geography and traveling along the coast of numerous ahus that are home to the gigantic sculptures called moai. Who, when and why were these sculptures created? It is a mystery. It is presumed that the island has been inhabited since the earliest centuries of our times, and the moai are hundreds of years old. Today visitors can share with the descendents of this ancient culture and who preserve their ancestral customs in the face of the advancement of Western civilization.

Our lodge, which opened in December 2007, was built on 9.6 hectares (23.7 acres) of land situated on a hill in the Te Miro Oone area, overlooking the ocean. This is in south-eastern Rapa Nui, 8 kilometers (4.9 miles) from Hanga Roa, the most populated part of the island.
All of the 30 rooms, which extend to the north and south from a central building, have excellent ocean views. The lodge has welcoming indoor spaces which integrate aspects of the local culture.
The design is intended to have minimal impact on its surroundings. The lodge is built on a site which is inappropriate for agricultural use and has no archaeological remains. The flora surrounding the lodge has been maintained intact.
Facilities
A few meters from the lodge you will find an open area with swimming pool, solar-heated jacuzzi and bar. To one side and connected with this area by a walkway is Hare Taheta, a place where you can enjoy various types of massage, such as relaxation and therapeutic, using different essential oils. All this in addition to fantastic views of the expansive Pacific Ocean.
The cuisine offers pure flavors based on the best-quality ingredients, many of which are produced locally. It is healthy and well-balanced, ideal for people going trekking or on explorations by bicycle or at sea
The itinerary is based on the requests of those that contract the excursions. For this reason, Explora Patagonia has designed 2 types of programs:
- 3 nights 4 days.
- 4 nights 5 days.
There are programs for 3 and 4 nights throughout the year in Explora Rapa Nui. With the purpose of being able to count on time and plenty of available space, we recommend the program of 4 nights. The starting dates of these programs are variable; therefore, we request that you ask about them at the time of reservation.

Included ExcursionsRapa Nui Island Exploring Rapa NuiThe hallmark of the "Explora Hotel" is that the passengers, who are called explorers, may participate in our diverse explorations that are organized according to group size and guest preference. Every day, we offer easy to more difficult walks that, one by one, unveil the secrets and beauty of the island. These walks are combined with picnics on rocky outcrops or along the shore, always in mesmerizing sites. The attractions of Rapa NuiCompared to other touristic parks and natural reserves, this national park doesnât owe its singularity to the spectacular vegetation. It's singularity resides in its volcanic origins and its oceanic surroundings. The most attractive sites are Rano Kau (a crater with a lagoon in its interior and the natural vegetation), Anakena (a restored Ahu, beach and picnic place), Ovahe (pink sand beaches) and Manuga Tere Vaka (the highest place in the island). The Rapa Nui SkyThe Climate. A Luminous Atmosphere Located immediately south of the Tropic of Capricorn, Easter Island has a subtropical marine climate that is profoundly influenced by wind and maritime currents. With an excellent climate year-round, the average temperature is 21ÂșC (69.8ÂșF), with temperatures of 28ÂșC (82.4 ÂșF) during summer (JanuaryâFebruary) and 14ÂșC (57.2 ÂșF) to 22ÂșC (71.6 ÂșF) in winter (JuneâAugust). The island is very luminous even on cloudy days. May is the wettest month, although rainfall can occur any time of the year.
