HACIENDA TRES LAGOS - LAGO NEGRO PROGRAM

From Balmaceda airport, we will take you through a breathtaking landscape to the South with a short stop at the gazebo of Cerro Castillo where you can enjoy a spectacular and majestic panorama of the Valley Río Ibáñez and its sharp peaks. Here you will also enjoy a delicious lunch in a typical restaurant.
We will continue in direction to the hotel, and soon, the different and beautiful sceneries embrace the impressive Lake General Carrera, the largest in Chile whose waters refract its turquoise blue, permanent company until the arrival in the Hacienda Tres Lagos.
On arrival at the hotel you will have a welcome drink, before taking a lap in a boat to get to know the Negro Lake and its surroundings. During some stops in sectors of interest, you can enjoy the scenery that surrounds the lake, which is composed of abundant native forests and lush flora. During this tour you will have the opportunity to cherish the beauty of the area that surrounds the hotel, where the Hacienda Tres Lagos has more than 1,500 hectares.
At night you will enjoy a dinner, a sample of exquisite cuisine that will make the closing of a day filled with beauty and emotions.

Voyage four lakes in our new boat "Gorbeano", touring lakes in the area to see the impressive North Ice Field.
The journey begins at the dock of the Hacienda, on the shores of Lake General Carrera, from where we are headed toward the “Pasarela”, to penetrate the Lake Bertrand, where one has a privileged view of the “Fuentes”, “Huenul” and “Soto” glaciers, and the waterfalls that are formed by the thaw.
This ice field is one of the major reserves of fresh water in the world, where there are the more crystal-clear rivers and lakes in the region. Then we continue sailing, to enter the Lake Plomo, particularly special by the change in the color of its waters, which come directly from glaciers.
Sailing by this lake we can admire the slopes of the hills covered by forests, with numerous waterfalls that make it more attractive environment. Since the end of the Lake Plomo we start the return, depart in the path for berthing of the Hacienda in the Bertrand lake and from there we arrive at a pier directly in front of the Hotel in the Negro Lake.

Through the scenic Southern Highway you will travel in direction North to visit the incomparable Marble Caves which are a unique phenomenon in the world.
During a boat ride over the crystal-clear emerald waters of the Lake General Carrera you will be able to admire stony formations which the effects of wind and water turned into admirable solid marble structures with different colours and characteristics over time – a unique and unforgettable spectacular!
Passing the cozy village of Puerto Tranquilo, you will enter the Explorer´s Valley where you can discover a landscape of wide variety and extraordinary beauty.
A breathtaking virgin flora along the road reveals ancient woodlands, emerald lakes, turbulent rivers and tremendous glaciers until you reach the highest peak of the Patagonia – the famous Monte San Valentín which marks the beginning of the enormous Northern Icefields.
Once back at the hotel, you will savor a delicious dinner.

Today they have a free day to relax or choose from one of our excursions available. They can make a trip to the Tamango National Reserve.
Through the Austral Road passing several natural attractions, you arrive at the confluence of the river Baker with the Nef River; a spectacle of nature noteworthy, when the largest river in the country is faced with the waters of the Nef River, producing a collision that the observed since the same shore, brings forth a feeling of admiration for the strength and beauty of these natural phenomena.
Reaching town Cochrane we will arrive at Tamango National Reserve, a unique and especially beautiful place. During a tour by boat on the limpid waters of the river and lake Cochrane, you will enjoy an unexplored and generous landscape.
After a lunch in the middle of this awesome surroundings, we will begin a brief walk through of virgin forests, where you can observe, with a little luck, the scarce “huemules”, beautiful deer which are a symbol of the shield Chile, which are currently protected by be in danger of extinction.
They also have the possibility to do the “Trekking Three Glaciers”, which connects the pier of Negro Lake with a beautiful overlook of the Bertrand Lake and three glaciers, deployed in the “Cordon Contreras”, mountainous chain that is inserted inside the San Rafael Lagoon National Park that makes part of Northern Ice Fields.
The voyage begins from the pier of the Negro Lake crossing its transparent waters by boat (10 minutes) or kayak (30 minutes) according to your preference.
After you come to a solitary beach where begins the hike, which crosses ancient native flora that goes bordering the path, which is composed mainly of trees as “Coigues” and “Lengas”, and from where they can be collected patagonian fruits as the “Chaura” and “Calafate” or delicate wild flowers, according to the time of the year. In addition, they can be seen native birds such as woodpeckers, “canquenes” and “bandurrias”.
The path, it ends up in the top of a hill, after about 2 hours of walk where one will have a privileged view to the turquoise waters of the Bertrand Lake and the “Huemul”, “Huenul” and “Fuentes” glaciers.
