Achao's architecture is highlighted by the many forms in which the larch tiles that are used to coat the houses. Facing the square of the village is the church Santa Maria Loreto Achao , a World Heritage Site. It is the oldest church in Chile built in wood and, along with that of Quinchao, are the only remaining stations built by the Jesuits in colonial times.
