The city of Iquitos in Peru is the gateway to the Amazon, the capital of the department of Loreto and the base camp for those who seek to explore the largest forest on the planet. Located in the middle of the northeastern jungle of Peru, on the banks of the Amazon, Nanay and Itaya rivers, Iquitos is the perfect destination for travelers who want to come into direct contact with the wild nature of the Peruvian jungle.

Home to 400 people, Iquitos is somewhat chaotic but stimulating. In its streets, you can feel the hectic pace of life that has as its center the Plaza de Armas, framed by the famous houses of the golden age of rubber. In the neighborhood of Belén you can have a look of the traditional houses that float on the river, while in the jirón, the commercial zone, there are many markets where the Amazon tribes offer their crafts and ayahuasca sessions.

The most important port of the Amazon is also a destination that offers services of good quality hotels; restaurants with the best of local Peruvian cuisine; and clubs with the best nightlife of the city.
