Puerto Guadal is a village located on the shores of Lake General Carrera in the Region of Aysén and is characterized by its good weather, being called as the "pearl of the lake".
The main activity is sheep and cattle and the production of honey, however for travelers arriving to this place are offered recreational fishing and the visit to the Escondida mine and Los Maquis waterfall. Puerto Guadal has tourist accommodations that are already established and has connectivity to the Carretera Austral.
Gastronomy
The typical dish of the region is the Lamb, which should pass through with a sword and bake the embers in a way inverted for a little more than two hours and a half. This is a long and familiar process served with potatoes, rice or various salads and inevitable pebre.

Stores in rural areas are open all day, but they close between 13.00 and 15.00. We advise you to carry local currency (Chilean pesos), since it isn’t possible to pay with debit or credit cards in kiosks and rural stores.
