In 2004, Norwegian entrepreneur Alexander Vik set out to create an exceptional vineyard capable of producing a truly unique wine. To achieve this vision and identify the ideal terroir, a team of oenologists, climatologists, geologists, viticulturists, and agronomists conducted an extensive search across South America.
Their quest for the best terroir and optimal climatic conditions for viticulture led to the acquisition of 4,325 hectares in Chile in 2006. Both the original studies and the current work in the vineyard are overseen by Patrick Valette. The chosen location was the Millahue Valley, known by the indigenous people as the “Place of Gold.”
It is here that VIK was born—a vineyard that represents the perfect fusion of people, expertise, land, climate, and cutting-edge technology. Nestled deep within the valley and surrounded by countless ravines, VIK offers an unparalleled diversity of terroirs and small microclimates, each with its own exposure and all refreshed by a cool coastal breeze. This combination creates the complexity that defines VIK wines and supports the ongoing mission to craft the best wine in South America.

Day 1: Arrival, Relaxation & First Encounter with VIK

What you will visit:

Although the official check-in time is 3:00 pm, guests are welcome to arrive earlier to enjoy the included lunch or to begin guided activities.

Lunch is served from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm, and is an essential part of the Full Experience program. If guests arrive after this time, the lunch may be taken on the day of check-out instead.

After lunch or once you have checked in, you will be welcomed with a Signature Drink & Briefing led by the Experience Concierge team, who will introduce you to the program, explain the activities available and assist you in coordinating your stay according to your preferences.

During the afternoon, you may enjoy one of the guided experiences included in the Full Experience, subject to availability:

  • Winery tour + barrel room visit + wine tasting

  • Garden and orchard tour with botanical tasting

  • Horseback riding through the vineyards

  • Biking routes through the valley

  • Trekking across the Millahue hills

At 5:30 pm, Tea Time begins, available until 7:00 pm—a perfect moment to unwind and enjoy the views of the valley and the lodge’s architecture.

To conclude your day, you will enjoy a 4-course Dinner, paired with 2 glasses of VIK wine per person.
Dinner is served between 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm, with scheduling coordinated by the front desk team.

Day 2: Nature, Flavors & Farewell

Your day begins with a buffet breakfast served from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, featuring artisanal breads, fresh fruits, hot dishes and healthy options.

You may then enjoy another guided activity included in the Full Experience program:

  • Horseback riding

  • Biking

  • Trekking

  • Garden and orchard visit

If you did not take your included lunch on the day of arrival, you may enjoy it today before the end of the program, always within the official lunch schedule.

After some free time to explore the gardens, relax in the hot tub or pool, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Millahue, you will complete check-out at 11:00 am, bringing your immersive VIK experience to a close.
