Until December 17th travelers will be able to enter an unprecedented contest which opened in seven countries, besides Chile. The prize will consist on the unique opportunity to travel around Aysén with a guest and to star in a docureality about their trip.

In order to participate, contestants – who must be of legal age and reside in one of the following countries: Argentina, Brazil, United States, Spain, England, France and Chile – must register in the www.exploreaysen.com web site, and upload a brief video (between 30 and 50 seconds) in which they explain the reasons which motivate them to know the region.

Aysén is located 1.649 kilometres south from Santiago, Chile’s Capital city, and can be accessed by air, sea and land. There are daily flights to this destination, which have a 3 hour duration. By sea, the trip may be done on board a catamaran or ferry in a 10 or 22 hour journey respectively, in order to get to Chacabuco port, 87 kilometres from Coyhaique. In case you may want to travel by land, from Santiago to Puerto Montt it is a 12 hour journey, and then you transfer to sea on board a barge or you may arrive through the enabled border crossings in Chile or Argentina.

Winners will be able to enjoy activities such as walking on ice, rafting along large rivers, kayak explorations, condors and deer sightings or tasting some of the typical cooking of one of the most southern regions of the world.

“In a 12 day journey you can walk on ice, kayak on fiords, go down the Baker River’s rapids, see the condors appear from the Ñirehuao River’s cliffs, gazing at General Carrera Lake’s turquoise blue and its Marble Chapels Sanctuary”, explains SERNATUR Aysén’s Regional Director, Américo Soto, member of the contest’s jury.

The winner will be announced on December 21st through the web site, Facebook (Explore Aysén) and Twitter (@exploreaysen), and later contact will be made with them in order to coordinate their visit to Chile.
