Here are the must-see vineyards in the Casablanca Valley to enjoy good wine, tremendous gastronomy and a visit to its vineyards.
Spring has arrived, and with it, the outdoor walks. One of the most exquisite ways to take advantage of the good weather of the season is visiting some of the most beautiful vineyards we have in Chile. Especially in the Casablanca Valley, which nestled between the Cordillera de la Costa and the Pacific Ocean, has a diverse range of vineyards to offer.
Casablanca wines, made in the fertile interior valleys of the Valparaíso region, are world recognized and Casablanca has earned the title of one of the 10 Great Wine Capitals of the world.
These four vineyards make the Casablanca wine route an indispensable activity for those seeking gastronomic tourism in the Valparaíso region.
- Veramonte
Only 40 minutes far from Santiago, Veramonte is the closest vineyard of the Casablanca Valley to the capital. It offers entertaining touristic activities for both adults and children.
While the parents walk through the vineyard and taste wines of the best quality, the youngest learn from the countryside, draw and drink natural juices instead of wine.
And for the spring-summer season, Veramonte added fun tours to its repertoire that include picnics and bike rides with water, snacks, and wine tasting included.
- Casas del Bosque
Nestled in the heart of the Casablanca Valley, there is the vineyard of the Cúneo family, which in its more than 230 hectares offers unique tours to discover its vineyards, trails, viewpoints, and restaurants.
With its offer of more than 10 tours, you will always have something to do in the Casas del Bosque vineyard. The experiences range from walks in an hour and a half by bike to tastings of its exclusive Bo foaming.
Tasting the carpaccio of angus meat with bocconcini (mozzarella balls) and the pesto of the Tanino restaurant is an experience in itself and a must if you visit the vineyard.
- Viña Catrala
Located inside the La Campana Biosphere Reserve, the Catrala vineyard has unique biodiversity that is which is present in its characteristic wines. Knowing it is quite an experience. The tour is done by walking to see the soils with quartz sands up close and to observe their different varieties of plantations. In the tour, which culminates with the visit to the winery and the barrel room, it stands out especially for the passage through the beautiful native forest of the vineyard.
- Viña House
In this wine tourism center, it is possible to enjoy three experiences in one. The first and the one that summons to the tourism is the route by its vineyards and its warehouse, where an expert enologist explains step by step the wine fabrication process. The tour also includes the tasting of three wines guided by a sommelier.
The second panorama offered by the Viña House is to taste one of the elaborate dishes of its signature restaurant.
And the third is to shop in the gourmet store not to go home empty-handed.
