Chiloé Island has dozens of spectacular places, but the Pier of Souls is the most special of all because of the magic that surrounds it.

The Island of Chiloé, located in southern Chile, is renowned for its natural beauty, typical architecture, and rich culture. Among the tourist attractions it offers, the famous The Pier of Souls (Muelle de las Almas) stands out, a place full of stories and mysteries that connects visitors with the essence of the island.

Located in the Cucao area, to the west of the island in the commune of Chonchi, the Pier of Souls is a small wooden pier built in 2005 that extends into the sea and disappears into the fog. Legend has it that this place is the starting point for the souls of the deceased who depart towards the afterlife.

According to tradition, the souls arrive at the pier in boats operated by the ferryman Tempilkawe, who guides them through the fog. There, the souls bid farewell to their loved ones and embark on the final journey towards the infinite sea. The beauty and serenity of the place are indescribable, and it is easy to imagine the souls of the deceased gliding along the pier towards their final destination.

Beyond the legend, the Pier of Souls is a place that inspires peace and reflection. Visitors can walk along the pier and enjoy the view of the sea and the surrounding forests, while listening to the sound of the waves and the breeze blowing from the south.

In addition to its spiritual value, the Pier of Souls is an important tourist attraction in Chiloé. Visitors can reach it by vehicle or through a trekking along the trails of the Chiloé National Park, which offers panoramic views of the coast and the mountains.

You can also visit the beaches of Cucao, with their crystal clear waters and white sands, ideal for relaxation and contemplation.

The Pier of Souls is the favorite place of visitors to the island to take the best selfies of their lives. But beyond appearing as a simple wooden pier on the Chiloé archipelago, it is a magical place, described as enchanted by the locals.
