The Kaweskar Route Cruise, in Skorpios III motor vessel, sails 380 miles through channels and fjords of a still untouched territory, towards the Amalia, El Brujo, Bernal Glaciers, Calvo Fjords and mountains in the Southern Ice Fields.

Day 1: Boarding Day

* Cruise 1 = Set sail on tuesday / Arrival on friday

* Cruise 2 = Set sail on friday / Arrival on monday

16.00 hrs: Boarding time.

18:00 hrs: Departure from Puerto Natales, navigating the Patagonian channels, Kirke Angostura, Morla Vicuña, Union, Collingwood and Sarmiento.

Day 2: Navigation to galciers

08:00 hrs: arrival to Amalia Glacier. The ship will approach the glacier and we will have panoramic view from the ship.

9:15 hrs: start the navigation towards El Brujo Glacier.

11:00 hrs: Arrival to El Brujo Glacier and, if the weather and ice conditions permit it, we can go down to contemplate this glacier from a closer rock.

12:30 hrs: departure to the Calvo Fjord.

14:30 hrs: landfall in Fjord Calvo, where we will do an excursion in a special motor boat through the ice, called Captain Constantine, visiting the Fernando, Captain Constantine and Alipio Glaciers, among others.

18:30: we will sail towards the Firth of Mountains.

Day 3: Trekkings towards glaciers

09:00 hrs: visit the Fjord of the Mountains, where you will see five glaciers, which hang from the Cordillera Sarmiento to the sea.

10:00 hrs: visit Glacier Bernal and walk through the vegetation to reach the base of it. Visit Herman Glacier to walk on the bay and admire the beauty  of the multicolored icebergs (this will depend on the conditions of the tide). Later on, visit Alsina and Paredes Glaciers.

17:00 hrs: departure from the Mountain's Fjord. We will cross the Angostura Kirke.

21:00 hrs: farewell party, Captain's Dinner and dance.

22:30 hrs: landfall in the Skorpios Terminal in Puerto Natales.

Day 4: End of the journey

08:00 to 09:30 hrs. Passenger's disembarkation.

Notes:

  • Skorpios gives you the opportunity to stay on board of the cruise starting on Friday with an extra charge.
  • Children between 1 and 5 years: free fee sharing bed.
  • Children between 6 and 11 years: 50% discount sharing cabin with parents.
  • Time of departure: according to the program of Skorpios, the cruise starts at 12.00 hrs on Saturday.. Passengers must be on board one hour in advance.
  • Skorpios may postpone the departure until 24 hours due to bad weather or force majeure. After this time, if the circumstances that prompted the delay persists, the company may cancel the cruise, returning the amount paid, but without additional compensation or payment to the passenger.

Equipment

M/N Skorpios III

The M/N Skorpios III was built in the shipyards of Skorpios, in 1994-1995, under Chilean standards and international navigation as SOLAS, IMO, Classification ABS Classification (American Bureau of Shipping), and Al Hielo, givingit a high degree of reliability and security. It is equipped with the latest discoveries in marine engineering and navigation equipment (echo sounder, radar, GPS, GMDSS, Global maritime distress system), safety equipment and rescue, fire stations, smoke detectors, sprinklers, CO2 banks, etc. It also has a international satellite telephone service, exclusively for passengers, according to current rates.

  • Cabins of the Skorpios II:
    • It has 55 cabins with a capacity of 110 passengers, base on double rooms, which can be increased to 130 seats based on triple and quadruple cabins. It also has double cabins and suites finely decorated . All cabins have private bathrooms , intercom , music and closed TV circuit.
