    In this tour, we'll visit the mine where 33 miners where rescued from the earth after being trapped underground for 77 days. We'll also go to one of the most beautiful national parks in the entire Atacama desert.

    In this tour you will know in depth the history of the rescue of the 33 miners who were trapped in the San José Mine.

    ​On this tour we will visit the emblematic San José Mine, where in 2010 a landslide left 33 miners trapped under more than 700 meters of rocks and minerals. During the tour we will walk along mining trails, visit the dune sector and then we'll go to San José mine guided by one of the rescued miners that spent almost 70 days underground with their companions.

    Day 2: Nevado Tres Cruces National Park - Copiapó

    Nevado Tres Cruces National Park Tour

    We'll visit the beautiful salt flat of Marcunga, the impressive Tres Cruces massif and the beautiful lagoons of the park that attract pink flamingos, different types of ducks, geese, and vicuñas.

    We'll pick you up at 8:00 am at your hotel in Copiapó to go to the Nevado Tres Cruces National Park towards the Andes mountain range. 
     
    During this panoramic tour, we'll appreciate the stunning landscapes at the Maricunga Salar, the Santa Rosa lagoon in the first sector, the Negro Francisco Lagoon and the mouth of the Astaburuaga river in the second sector.
     
    We'll observe the Tres Cruces massif that stands out above the rest of the mountains as its three summits reach 6,000 meters above sea level. The Nevado has small glaciers that remain in summer and originate the Lamas River that feeds the waters of the Santa Rosa lagoon.
     
    1:00 pm: Box lunch on the ground in front of the lagoon.
     
    During the tour, we’ll be able to see pink flamingos and a great variety of geese and ducks, as well as guanacos and vicuñas. Then we'll visit the Maricunga salt, which is a closed basin originated by the crossing of the Claudi Gay and Domeyko mountain ranges. We'll finish the tour at Laguna Verde, which is located 4,200 meters above sea level, surrounded by volcanoes and hills that exceed 5,500 meters above sea level.
     
    7:30 pm: We'll be back at your hotel in Copiapó.
