In the center of San Pedro de Atacama, exist the archaeological museum Padre Gustavo Le Page. He was a priest who not only evangelized during the 1950s, but also dedicated his life to collecting articles found in the middle of the desert. Years later, different organizations and institutions decided to create a museum to protect, care for and give life to pre-Columbian cultures.
Archaeological sites that you cannot miss in San Pedro de Atacama:
1. Pukará de Quitor: It is an Atacama fortress and can be visited on a tour or bike from San Pedro de Atacama, as it is 3 kilometers away.
