You will explore the Atacama Desert in various ways: on foot, by bike, or by vehicle. Each day you will have different experiences to choose from, although you can always stay at the hotel and enjoy its amenities.
Day 1: Arrival day
Upon your arrival at Calama airport, we will be waiting to transfer you to the Explora Atacama hotel. Once there, you can check in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing by the pools or at the hotel’s spa.
In the afternoon, we suggest a hike towards the Domeyko mountain range, following a ravine once used as a caravan route for exchange and gathering, leading to the Rainbow Valley. Once there, you will be amazed by its unique landscapes, featuring multicolored cliffs created by its rich mineral composition.
Days2 through 4: Day off or excursion of your choice
Start your day early, departing at dawn towards the Tatio geysers. Upon arrival, you will enjoy breakfast while admiring the impressive steam columns, with the majestic Andes mountain range as a backdrop.
In the afternoon, the plan is to unwind at the Puritama Hot Springs. The excursion begins in Guatín, where you’ll take a 30-minute uphill hike among giant cacti until reaching the Puritama River gorge. From there, you will descend along the riverbank, surrounded by rock walls and vegetation, until arriving at the thermal pools—perfect for relaxation.
