Travel trough the Salar de Atacama, third biggest of the world!! Enjoy beautiful landscapes from de desert and salt, mixed with history, inca trails, meteor craters, big lakes from the Andes Range and the amazing Los Flamencos National Reserve.

Day 1: San Pedro de Atacama - Peine

We leave San Pedro de Atacama (2,500 meters) towards the National Reserve of Los Flamingos, to visit the Moon Valley area.

We continue through the Llano de la Paciencia, along the west side of the Salar de Atacama by an old mining road, towards to the Tilomonte oasis where we will have lunch by carob tree shade. After a break we will ride to the Monturaki meteorite crater, this is the second best preserved crater on the planet.

We continue our journey heading Peine, (2,300 m) to witness the sunset at Laguna Blanca sector. After the sunset we will return to Peine, where our accommodation is located, the rural tourism network Lickan Huasi, following dinner we will review the route for the next day. There is the option of visiting the ruins of old Peine and the Inca Trail.

Tranche Day 1: 230 kilometers

Average altitude: 2.400 masl

Day 2: Peine - Socaire

We will head towards the former border of Argentina, Paso Sico, where we will see a spectacular panoramic set, between lakes and volcanoes with a wide flora and fauna variety.

Lunch at Salar de Aguas Calientes.

During summer there´s the option of sleeping in the National Reserve of Flamingos and Miñiques - Miskanti area (4,000 masl).In winter seasson it's impossible due to the cold extreme conditions, in this case, we sleep in Socaire (3,200 m), with the rural tourism network Lickan Huasi.
