Day 1: Wellcome Robinson Crusoe island

Reception at the Robinson Crusoe Island Aerodrome to the Hostería Refugio Náutico.

We will receive you with a welcome cocktail.

Day 2: Tour San Juan Bautista village

What you will visit:

  • 1 Robinson Crusoe island
  • 2 San Juan Bautista village

We are beginning the day at approximately 9:00 am and tour the town. We are going to learn about the most important economic activity of its inhabitants, the fishing of the lobster, and visit Carpintería and La Caleta, where we will meet its boats and traps.

The town of San Juan Bautista has a rich historical importance and on this day we will visit El Fuerte Santa Barbara, a monument that in the 18th century defended national sovereignty. Then, we are going to find the cave of the Patriots who sheltered in 1815 the  relegated ones of the Chilean Independence.

We continue the route to the north end of Robinson Crusoe Island which is a historic site that houses the projectiles impacted by the Kent and Glasgow English ships against the German Ship Dresden during World War I.

We will visit the house of culture where we can find the remains of this German vessel.

12:30 pm: We are back at the hotel.

Day 3: Excursion El Yunque hill

We  leave from the hotel at approximately 10:00 am and  make an excursion to El Yunque hill.

This is a botanical circuit where we will see the different native and endemic vegetation of Robinson Crusoe island. In here we  are able to observe exclusive species such as: red woodpecker of Juan Fernández (Sephanoides fernandezii), palm chonta (Juania australis), canelo (Drymis confertifolia), Naranjillo (Fagara mayu), luma (Myrceugenia fernandeziana), pangue (Gunnera peltata) Of ferns.

13:30 hours: We are back at the hotel

Day 4: Excursion to Selkrirk viewpoint

What you will visit:

We leave from the hotel at approximately 10:00 am and take an excursion to the Selkrirk viewpoint, one of the best landscape of Robinson Crusoe island.

We will enter the native forest of this World Biosphere Reserve, following an interpretive path of CONAF. After two hours we arrive at the spot where Alexander Selkirk, the Scottish sailor, scrutinized day after day the horizon in search of the ship that would save him from his voluntary exile. In this place there are two plaques commemorating the adventure of Selkirk, one left by the officers of the British vessel Topaze and another left by a direct descendant of the Scottish corsair.

Day 5: Excursion Puerto Inglés

After breakfast, we leave at approximately 9:00 am to English Harbor.

In this place was where the pirates and English corsairs arrived. We disembark and discover the Scottish sailor Alexander Selkirk who lived four years and four months on this island between 1704 and 1709.

This story later inspired the English chronicler Daniel Defoe to write in 1719 his novel "The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe". We are also going to meet the site where a Spanish treasure is supposed to be buried and where it is currently being excavated to find it. Hiking through the sector, following the different points of observation that perhaps the pirates used to demarcate the burial site.

Day 6: Departure day

What you will visit:

After breakfast, we go to the aerodrome of the Robinson Crusoe Island to complete our services.

  • Welcome drink.
  • Breakfast - lunch or dinner.
