It is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, known for the moais, which are giant sculptures with millions of years of existence. The myth and reality are confused in this territory that gave rise to a unique and extraordinary culture, which makes Rapa Nui a valuable archaeological treasure that transcends the borders of Chile.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Easter Island

Once you arrive to the East Island Airport you will be welcomed with a beautiful flower necklace, permanent symbol of the islanders’s friendliness with the tourist. After this we will head straight to your hotel, leaving the afternoon free for your to get some rest in this mystical island and regenerate the energies for the fantastic tour that awaits you the day after!

Day 2: Full day tour

Starting the tour from your hotel in Hanga Roa, the tour will take you to the south-east and north-east of the island to visit the Ahu Akahanga, formed by 4 platforms, 12 Moai, 8 pukao. From here you can see one of the best preserved villages of the island. Continuing Rano Raraku volcanic crater formed of consolidated volcanic ash, Rano Raraku is a visual record of moai design vocabulary and technological innovation, where 397 moai remain. Lunch instead.

Ahu Tongariki, the most surprising ahu on the island, with 15 moais huge. Ahu Te Pito Kura, has the largest statue erected on an Ahu, the moai Paro, 10 mts. And 85 tons with 11.5 tons pukao. It is believed that the last statue to be demolished by 1840. AHU is located next to a large stone ball which is identified with the center of the world (Te Pito o Te Henua), which according to legend was brought by Hotu Matua 'to your boat. Ahu Nau Nau has 5 moai with Pukao and 2 broken. The back of the moai and some stones from the rear wall have petroglyphs. During excavations found an extraordinary eye pupil white coral red slag, is exhibited at the Museum of the Island.

Day 3: Full Day tour to Ahu Akivi and Orongo

Excursión Ahu Akivi

During the circuit we will visit Ahu Akivi, it is one of the few platforms from which the Moais seem to look at the sea, the 7 moais that exist today are said to represent the 7 explorers sent by the Hotu a Mat¨a before his colonizing voyage. After this visit we will continue to the Uri a Urenga and finally to Puna Pau, a small crater of red dross in which the Pukao, Moai hats and crowns are produced.

Excursión Orongo

In this tour we will visit the Vinapu area, an archaeological site which is known for its big basalt tiles, carefully made in a similar way as some Incan buildings in Cuzco. Rano Kau volcano, a place with a lagoon with the small islands of Totora and abundant vegetation and micro fauna. The ceremonial village of Orongo, the place where the Bird Man ceremony took place, which designated who would be the next to the king, the next spiritual and political leader for a period of a year. This sacred person with a shrunken man’s body and a great bird’s beak is sculpted in a great amount of engraved stones. Return to the hotel and transfer to the East Island Airport.

Day 4: Free day in Rapa Nui

Free day so you can enjoy the last day in Easter Island.

At agreed time we´ll pick you up at the hotel to take you directly to the Airport.
