We will depart from your accommodation in Arica at approximately 09:00 a.m. We will visit historical sites such as the Morro de Arica and its Military Museum, which recounts its bloody battle. The Cathedral of San Marcos and the former Customs House (both designed by Eiffel's students), a coastal tour by the former Isla del Alacrán and Playa la Lisera, where the history of Arica over time is presented on panels.
We will enter the Azapa Valley (with olive, mango, passion fruit, and other crops) to see the beautiful panels on Cerro Sombrero and Cerro Sagrado, showcasing their Andean worldview. We will visit the Azapa Archaeological Museum, which presents a summarized display of the entire sociocultural development of the Central Southern Andean area. The highlight is the mystical preparation mummies of the Chinchorro Culture (10,000 years old, the oldest in the world).
Finally, we will return to your accommodation in Arica.
