  • Quebrada Carrizo, region of Antofagasta

This incredible corner of the Chilean desert is located in the south of Antofagasta and is part of a unique circuit that culminates in a point of height from where you can appreciate the sunset over the city. To get there you must walk along the train line towards La Negra to the bridge, where you will see the entrance to Quebrada Carrizo, the beginning of a beautiful one our trail of colorful rock formations.

  • Pirquinco Lagoon, Biobío region

Steep granite mountains surround a quiet lagoon that reflects the colors of the lake. This stunning landscape is unique in Chile and is still a secret for most travelers. It's not easy to get there, but it definitely worth it. From Los Angeles, you should take the road to Alto Biobío. At kilometer 75 you reach the Sanctuary of White Waters, where you leave the car to continue walking for 9 km.

  • Termas de Polloquere, Arica and Parinacota region

They do not have an infrastructure, they are free and receive few visits per year, which makes them ideal for those who seek contact with nature. Located at 4000 meters high in Arica y Parinacota region, they are the hottest hot springs in Chile, bordering 60º C and home to flamingos, ñandúes, juarjual ducks and vicunas, species that you can observe while you bathe or if you camp in the place.

  • Qirilluca Beach, Valparaíso region

If you thought Las Docas was the most beautiful beach in the fifth region, you're wrong. Quirilluca beach, located 4 km from Horcón, is equal or more beautiful and currently, much more unknown. This beautiful beach with green cliffs, is a refuge for birds and native flora, perfect for a relaxing afternoon, although unfortunately, the industrial development of the area has endangered its ecosystem.

  • Island of the Dead, Aysén

Recognized as a National Historic Monument, this beautiful island of green and lush jungle keeps a mysterious and dark history behind. In 1905, 200 Chilote workers disembarked at the mouth of the Baker River to build houses, corrals, and crops. Little by little, the workers died of an unknown illness, and for fear of being infected, the survivors moved the bodies to the place they now call "Isla de Los Muertos" or "Island of the Dead"

  • Yendegaia National Park

Ñirres, coigues, Chilean cinnamon and notros along with extensive pastures, fast rivers, lakes, and glaciers from the wonderful landscapes of the Yendegaia National Park. Located in the extreme south of Chile, in Tierra del Fuego, it is home to species of Chilean fauna such as the Andean fox, the huillín, the cauquén colorado, the leopard seal, and the elephant seal.

  • Chañaral de Aceituno, Atacama region

The main attraction of this little-known destination is whales. During the summer, you can spot up to 6 different types, in addition to dolphins and Humboldt penguins, belonging to Humboldt Penguin National Reserve located just in front.

  • Isla Madre de Dios, region of Magallanes

It seems strange that this incredible island is not better known. The solitude and silence of this place give a dreamlike touch to the prominent rock formations, the cliffs and the dense forests that make it up. Its mysterious caves, formed by the erosion of winds and tides, were used by the Kaweskar people who lived there for 6000 years until the 21st century. In some of its caves, rock paintings and whale skeletons from 3,500 years ago have been found.
To get there you have to navigate between fjords and channels for approximately 22 hours, from Puerto Natales to the Guarello Island of the Madre de Dios archipelago.

 

  • Salto de la Olla, Los Lagos region

This is one of the best-kept secrets of the Los Lagos region. On the way to Puyehue, in the town of Pimaiquén, you will find this natural wonder, a water fall of approximately 20 meters of height between reddish rocks and lush vegetation.

 

  • Cerro Las Peinetas, Araucanía region

This hill of 2000 meters high, is located in the Villarrica National Park and is one of the hidden gems of climbers and mountaineers. It has a trekking route of 6 hours and a climbing route of 10 hours, both recommended only for experienced athletes and in good physical condition. The mountain, of volcanic origin, is surrounded by coigues, lengas, araucarias, and rauilíes.
