What you will visit:

  • 1 Puerto Natales
  • 2 Base Torres viewpoint

We will pick you up at your accommodation very early in the morning to go to Torres del Paine Park, through the entrance of the Central Sector. This is one of the most difficult days of our circuit due to the numer of kilometers that we will walk and the unevennes of the trails but it will all be worth it when you get to see the famous Mirador de Base Torres. We will walk 20 km approx in a total of 8 to 10 hours, depending on the pace.

After checking in at the park entrance, we will begin the trek through the pampas and crossing the Ascencio River, then go up about 3 km until we reach Paso de los Vientos, from where we will have incredible views of the valley and the lakes. We will arrive at El Chileno Refuge, from where the landscape changes completely as we enter a lenga forest with a easier path.

We will arrive at La Morrena, where the hard part of the trek begins, walking along a rock path that leads to the Base Torres Viewpoint, famous for its proximity to the Torres del Paine. Here we can recover strength while enjoying the box lunch before returning. We will arrive again at the Central Sector, where our transfer will be waiting for us to take us to Puerto Natales.

Walking between coigües, ñirres and notros, we will reach the first viewpoint, from where we will see numerous pieces of glacier floating in Gray Lake. We can have lunch on the way or once we get to the shelter.

In the afternoon we will have a time for relaxation and rest, enjoying the common areas of the refuge. We will have dinner in the dining room and we will sleep in shared rooms.

Day 5: Hanging bridges trekking

What you will visit:

  • 1 Vertice Grey shelter

This day is the one that differentiates the traditional W circuit from the special one since we will get to know a path that belongs to the O Circuit, starting from the Gray Refuge in the direction of El Paso Camp. The path borders the Gray Glacier from the heights, so we will have privileged views that the W circuit does not allow.

After having an early breakfast we will start the walk that will take us along the side of the glacier, entering a dense forest with streams connected by hanging bridges of different lengths. The third bridge is 56 meters long, making it one of the most extensive hanging footbridges in the protected areas of the State of Chile. It is a path of medium difficulty that will surprise you with its incredible views and the amazing experience of crossing the hanging bridges.

We will have lunch after the third bridge, leaving some time to rest and take pictures, and we will return by the same route to the Refugio Gray for dinner.
