Two-day trekking to climb up the Licancabur volcano. We will leave from San Pedro de Atacama and lodge in an Andean refuge. The next day we start the walk thats take us to witness incredible landscapes of the Atacama Desert
Day 1: Ascent to the volcano Licancabur
We leave from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama at 8:00 am to go to the Licancabur volcano and be able to make the ascent. The first stop will be on the border between Chile and Bolivia and there a truck waits for us and take us to the refuge, located about 40 minutes away.
This place allows us to acclimatize for the height. We then go for a walk and arrive at the white lagoon to appreciate the Andean landscape. Then we rest early in the shelter and prepare for the next day.
Day 2: Licancabur Volcano Summit
We get up at 2:00 am and have breakfast and then we head towards the Licancabur volcano to begin its ascent at approximately 3:00 am. This trekking will take us around 7 hours until we reach the top, where we there is an impressive landscape. Then we descend for 3 hours.
Once in the initial point, the truck will wait for us to take us to the shelter, pick up the things and return to San Pedro de Atacama.
We end the tour with a dinner in San Pedro de Atacama.
