Magdalena Island is home to one of the largest colonies of Magellanic penguins in Chile. We invite you to sail among thousands of these birds that are typical of the southern tip of Chile.

  • Departure: 06:45,13:15
  • Duration: 4 hours
  • Pickup / Dropoff: Hotel en Punta Arenas

What you will visit:

  • 1 Punta Arenas
  • 2 Isla Magdalena

At the agreed time (6.45 or 13.15 hours) we'll pick you up at your hotel in Punta Arenas to go to the Prat Pier, where we will board the Fiordos del Sur II catamaran, which will take us to navigate through Magdalena Island. We will cross the Strait of Magellan and, after an hour and a half of navigation, we'll have arrived at the island.

We'll disembark to visit the Los Pingüinos Natural Monument, where between 30,000 and 40,000 Magellanic penguins live on the island to nest, whose chicks are born in the summer season. We will walk along the path in the direction of the lighthouse, which is a National Historic Monument, closely appreciating these birds.

After an hour on the island, we will return to the ferry that will take us back to the Prat Pier and, from there, we will take you to your hotel.
