Day 1: Arrival day
Transfer: Airport Hotel in Coyhaique
We will pick you up at Balmaceda Airport and head toward Coyhaique. There, we’ll take a city tour, visiting the award-winning Regional Museum, the scenic Simpson River viewpoints, and the iconic Shepherd Monument.
Day 2: Puyuhuapi
We will head toward our first destination, passing by several natural attractions such as the Simpson River, Mañihuales River, Lake Las Torres Reserve, Piedra del Gato, and Cisnes River. Continuing along this route, at the edge of the fjord in Bahía Dorita, a covered boat will be waiting to take us to Puyuhuapi Lodge & Spa. Upon arrival, you'll enjoy a welcome drink and check-in. Here, you can relax in the spa and outdoor thermal pools.
Day 3: Puerto Raúl Marín Balmaceda
After breakfast, recharged and revitalized by the thermal waters of the southern fjords, we begin our journey to the next destination. We’ll follow the course of the Palena River, heading to Puerto Raúl Marín Balmaceda, the first settlement founded in Aysén. Located at the mouth of the Palena River and southeast of the Gulf of Corcovado, Raúl Marín Balmaceda’s landscapes are truly breathtaking. Set on an island in the river delta, its sandy sediments form beautiful, wide beaches teeming with wildlife, while the surroundings feature steep hills covered in lush vegetation and dramatic rocky cliffs.
Day 4: Pumalín National Park
After breakfast, we will continue our journey along the Northern Carretera Austral, traveling about 145 km north to the town of Chaitén. Our goal is to discover Pumalín National Park, with its deep forests that descend to the fjords, creating one of the most spectacular coastal edges on the planet. Hundreds of waterfalls cascade from glaciers and fall over granite cliffs, while the Michimahuida and Chaitén volcanoes crown the landscape. The undisputed protagonist is the threatened Alerce tree: 25% of the country's remaining species find refuge in this National Park, and its nearly 3,000 years of existence tell the timeless story of this pristine ecosystem in the Palena province.
Day 5: Queulat National Park
We will head to Queulat National Park, which in the Chonos language means "Sound of Waterfalls." It’s a unique place among always-green forests and Patagonian Andes, featuring waterfalls, fjords, steep cliffs, rushing rivers, and its famous hanging glacier, which can be seen from the Carretera Austral. We continue south, stopping for lunch in Puerto Cisnes, and along the way, we’ll visit the towns of Villa Amengual and Villa Mañihuales before reaching Puerto Chacabuco.
Day 6: Puerto Chacabuco- Puerto Aysén
We will take a historical and heritage tour of the city, where its vernacular architecture stands out, featuring native wood constructions and its iconic Presidente Ibáñez Hanging Bridge, the largest in Chile. As the first capital of the Aysén region, the city invites us to stroll through its streets before continuing the day with a farewell Patagonian BBQ at a local ranch. Patagonia's culture and identity will be our hosts, sharing stories of settlement and accompanied by Chamamé music to liven up the afternoon.
