Day 1: Start of the Aero-Cruise

What you will visit:

1 Punta Arenas

At 14:00 hours in Punta Arenas will be received by the personal of Antarctic XXI, and then be transferred to the hotel in Cabo de Hornos.

During the afternoon, will receive general information of the Antarctic and finally finish with a typical food of the Magallanes Region to meet the team that will travel to the Antarctic.

Day 2: Scheduled flight to Antarctica

What you will visit:

1 Antarctica

Your travel begins with a two-hour flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island (South Shetland Islands).

We will visit some interesting sites, such as the Chilean Frei Base and the Russian Bellingshausen Base, before boarding the Zodiacs that will take you to our expedition ship.

Days3 through 6: Exploring Antártic

What you will visit:

1 Antarctica

Navigate between the South Shetland Islands and the west side of the Antarctica Peninsula, going through fjords and spectacular icebergs, in company of sea birds, penguins, seals and wales.

Our itinerary changes in each expedition, you’ll explore the varied Antarctic ecosystem. The trip may include visits to Paulet Island, Hope Bay, Port Lockroy, Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, Deception Island, Lemaire Channel and many other magnificent places.

Day 7: Flight to Punta Arenas

What you will visit:

1 Antarctica

Return to Rey Jorge Island and say goodbye to Antarctica before boarding a flight that will take you back to Punta Arenas.

After your arrival, you’ll be transported to your hotel to spend the night there.

*Meals in Punta Arenas are on your charge and are not included in the program.

Day 8: End of the Aero-Cruise

Transfer: Hotel Airport in Punta Arenas

We will take you directly to the airport in Punta Arenas and with this, we ended the program.

For Aero-Cruises that start in Punta Arenas, there’s Airport/Hotel transport on the first day of the program (available only for passengers that arrive before 14:00 hrs.)
For Aero-Cruises that start in Punta Arenas, there’s 1 night of accommodation with breakfast in Punta Arenas, in the Cabo de Hornos Hotel or similar, and a welcome dinner including drinks on day 1.

Vessels:

Ocean Nova is a modern and comfortable expedition vessel. She was built in Denmark in 1992 to sail the ice-choked waters of Greenland. She was fully refurbished in 2006 and has since bene tted from annual upgrades and improvements. Her ice-strengthened hull is ideally suited for expedition travel in Antarctica. For our air-cruises, Ocean Nova has capacity for 67 passengers accommodated in comfortable outside cabins. In addition to a glass-enclosed observation lounge and presentation room, Ocean Nova also has a spacious dining room, a bar, a library, a small gym, and an infirmary.
Magellan Explorer is a new and modern expedition vessel custom build for our Antarctic air-cruises. She was built in Chile to the latest Polar Code speci cations to start service in 2019. For our air-cruises, Magellan Explorer has capacity for 69 passengers. The ship features a glass-enclosed observation lounge and presentation room with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, a spacious and stylish dining room, a well-stocked bar, a library, a meeting room, a gym, a sauna, and a medical clinic.
