What you will visit:
- 1 Puerto Montt
- 2 Puerto Varas
- 3 Valdivia
We will pick you up to head north towards the capital of the Los Ríos Region. Upon arrival in Valdivia, we will make our first stop at Avenida Arturo Prat, or the waterfront promenade, which runs alongside the Calle Calle River. Here, we will visit the Fluvial Market, where locals typically buy fresh fish, seafood, fruits, and vegetables.
Next, we will pass through Avenida General Lagos, the oldest neighborhood in the city, where the Torreón del Canelo is located. This lookout tower was used by the Spanish during the colonial period to defend against attacks from indigenous people and corsairs. After that, we will return to the city center to visit the San Francisco Church and the Plaza de la República or Plaza de Armas, which is known for its beautiful gardens.
Later, we will cross the Pedro de Valdivia Bridge to Teja Island, home to the Austral University, and continue along the coastal route toward Niebla and the Los Molinos beach resort. We will pass through bridges, piers, and the area where the Cruces and Calle Calle rivers meet to form the Valdivia River. Of course, we will also visit the Niebla Castle, strategically located on a point facing the sea to defend against pirates. The museum’s various rooms showcase the pirates' ambitions, and the exterior walls, built from Cancagua stone and cannons cast in the workshops of the Motherland, are silent reminders of this historical past.
After this visit, we will begin our return to Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas.
