For 4 days you will know the best of Aysén region. We will sail in Catamaranes del Sur through San Rafael lagoon and we will visit the Marble Chapels on the largest lake in Chile.
Day 1: Arrival Balmaceda Airport - Marble Chapels
Transfer: Airport in Coyhaique Hotel in Puerto Chacabuco
We will be waiting for you at Balmaceda airport on the last flight of the afternoon to take you to Hotel Loberías del Sur, where you can rest or visit the area before having a delicious dinner at the restaurant.
Day 2: Laguna San Rafael
What you will visit:
- 1 Laguna San Rafael National Park
In the morning we will leave the hotel towards the Port of Chacabuco where the navigation starts in Catamaranes del Sur. On board we will have breakfast, along with an aperitif, lunch, open bar, cocktail and whiskey with millenary ice.
We will sail through the channels and fjords of Chilean Patagonia and see the native forests and islands of southern Chile. We will finish the tour at the foot of the San Valentín Glacier and see how its ice floes break off. In San Rafael lagoon we will disembark in zodiac to see the ice up close.
We will return to the Puerto de Chacabuco in the Catamaran and go to the hotel where we can have dinner and rest.
Day 3: Alero de las Manos y Escuela Museum
What you will visit:

After a delicious breakfast we will go to the "Paredón de las Manos", ancient paintings that date back 10 thousand years and are part of the Patagonian rock art, one of the most well-known archaeological sites in the region and has an infrastructure minimum tourist that allows the visitor an easy access and basic information of both the archaeological site and the surrounding space.Later we will visit the School Museum, located in Cerro Castillo, where we will have a brushstroke of local history within a building that is part of the the National Historic Monuments of the country.
We will continue our way towards the famous Marble Chapels. During the trip we will appreciate a landscape of lenga, coigüe and ñire forests, vegetation that covers the entrance point to the Cerro Castillo National Reserve. Later we can see the green lagoon of emerald color and surrounded by jungle. We will cross the El Manso bridge, to later observe the flooded valley and covered with tall grasses and dead trunks that are the result of the great eruption of the Hudson Volcano in 1991.
We will continue our way and we will enter the Portezuelo del Río Cajón (altitude 600 mt). Here the road begins to descend until arriving at the town of Murta, located in an arm of the General Carrera Lake. Then, we will continue bordering the General Carrera Lake with its blue waters until we reach the town of Puerto Río Tranquilo. Here we will make a navigation until we find the wonderful Shrine of Nature Capillas de Mármol. This is a place of great scenic beauty, where the constant waves of the lake have eroded and polished the limestone leaving caverns of different shapes.
At dusk, we will return to the hotel in Puerto Bertrand or Puerto Guadal, depending on availability, where we will recover strength and enjoy a delicious dinner (drinks not included).
Day 4: Departure day
Transfer: Hotel in Puerto Bertrand Airport in Coyhaique
On our last day we will enjoy breakfast at Hotel Loberías del Sur and then take the transfer to Balmaceda Airport.
